In the heart of Croydon, a record is being set. The world’s tallest structures using off-site construction methods are being built. The two towers at 101 George Street – designed by HTA Design and forward-funded by Greystar and Henderson Park – will reach heights of 44 and 38 storeys respectively. Part two of the development will then see Vision Modular install the fully-fitted modules, built off-site in a factory in Bedford and brought on-site to Croydon. When they are completed, they will house 546 flats. What’s more, the development will include winter gardens, an art gallery, an incubator hub for local businesses and an onsite cafe.

Mark Allnutt, senior managing director for Greystar UK, said: “Modular will, without a doubt, play a central role in the future of construction and this development has been a fantastic opportunity for Greystar to become an early adopter. For Greystar it ticks a lot of boxes – it delivers a high-quality product, at speed, in a safe and controlled environment.”
