Modular manufacturer Wernick has built a two storey 60 module education facility in the space of 22 weeks. The project – Swansea University Bay Campus – includes the UK’s first energy positive office, leading the way in, what is known as, ‘Active Office’ technology. This technology shows how an energy-resilient community operates; It even supports sharing its energy with an adjacent building.

RICS Wales voted it the Project of the Year for demonstrating how the concept of ‘buildings as power stations’ functions. In its first year of operation, the classroom generated one-and-a-half times the solar energy it consumes.
